American Express and Delta Air Lines have teamed up to offer new benefits to Delta SkyMiles Cards from American Express for consumers and small business owners. When Delta SkyMiles Options cardholders reach $5,000 in eligible purchases during a year, they will earn 1,000 bonus miles. Delta SkyMiles credit card or Delta SkyMiles Business credit card holders will earn 2,500 bonus miles for reaching $10,000 in eligible purchases. Delta SkyMiles Gold credit card or Delta SkyMiles Business Gold credit card holders will earn 5,000 bonus miles for reaching $15,000 in eligible purchases plus an additional 5,000 bonus miles for reaching a total of $25,000 in eligible purchases. Cardholders will earn an additional 10,000 Medallion Qualification Miles (MQM) for reaching $50,000 in eligible purchases with the Delta SkyMiles Platinum credit card or the Delta SkyMiles Platinum Business credit card (currently Medallion members earn 10,000 MQM toward elite status after reaching $25,000 in eligible purchases). Companion certificates have also been added. Delta SkyMiles Gold Cardmembers and Delta SkyMiles Business Gold Cardmembers will now automatically receive a $99 domestic companion certificate upon renewal with no blackout dates or minimum fare restrictions and Platinum cardholders will receive a complimentary domestic companion certificate upon renewal, also with no blackout dates and minimum fare requirements. Delta cardholders continue to earn double miles on every eligible dollar spent on Delta Air Line purchases and at supermarkets, gas stations, drugstores and home improvement stores, among others.
