Recently, top OnePass Elite members took part in the First Annual Continental OnePass Golf Tournament at Redstone Country Club in Houston. For a 5,000-mile donation to charity, OnePass Elite members who had flown at least 100 segments this year were invited. Other members could bid their miles for a chance to play — the winning bids were each over 20,500 miles. To make the day even more fun and interesting, each foursome had a Continental executive playing, and everyone enjoyed lunch and dinner — and the perfect weather. Prizes such as trips to Hawaii and New York were handed out, while tournament winners received OnePass miles and model airplanes signed by Continental CEO, Larry Kellner. One of the participants, David Paik, manager at Navigant Consulting, said, “I’m looking forward to getting invited back to play in next year’s tournament — just a small motivator to fly another one hundred plus segments on my favorite airline.”
The Houston Golf Association was the recipient of the charity donation and will distribute the funds between several greater Houston nonprofit organizations. We’ve heard that the marketing VPs at Continental are pretty good, so beware of the sandbagging of your handicap if you get a chance to play in the next tournament.
