Every quarter, the good folks at Alaska Airlines put a few spots on the map on sale for juicy discounts, and this summer is no different.
Members can save 5,000 miles off the usual 20,000-mile Saver Awards on travel between Seattle and Calgary, Edmonton, Sun Valley or Kelowna.
Calgary and Edmonton have hockey teams, Sun Valley had that unfortunate Hemingway incident, but just where the heck is Kelowna, you ask? Glad you did. For those of us not as well-versed in our Canadian geography as we ought to be, Kelowna is a lakeside city in the southern interior of British Columbia with a population of 109,000, offering plenty of activities in the beautiful Canadian outdoors.
The offer is available for travel until Aug. 31. Award reservations must be booked online at http://www.alaskaair.com between the cities specified in order to qualify for the mileage discount.
Stopovers at connection cities aren’t allowed at this discounted rate.
