Harmony of the Seas, Royal Caribbean International’s newest Oasis-class vessel, is progressing towards completion at the STX France shipyards. Harmony will be just a few millimeters longer than her sister ship Allure of the Seas, making her the largest cruise ship in the world when she first sets sail with guests in May 2016.
Notably, new check-in technology that was introduced onboard Quantum-class vessels will be available on Harmony of the Seas. This includes iPad check-in and RFID wristbands which can serve as your room key and be used for making onboard purchases. Harmony will also introduce the popular Jamie’s Italian Restaurant to the Oasis-class fleet as well as the Bionic Bar where revelers can watch robots prepare their libations. Adventurous diners will also want to visit Wonderland for a unique dining experience!
Harmony of the Seas will also introduce an awesome new waterslide, The Abyss. Brave cruisers will board The Abyss 10 decks above the Boardwalk where they’ll exit the biggest waterslide at sea after a sure to be exhilarating ride. This video looks fun!!
Harmony of the Seas will also set sail with many features that are familiar to Oasis-class veterans. These include an expansive Royal Promenade featuring the popular Rising Tide Bar, Boleros, shopping, and more.
Of course, no Oasis-class cruise would be complete without a visit to Starbucks. However, you’ll find the Starbucks store has relocated to the Boardwalk area aboard Harmony of the Seas. Yes, your Starbucks card will work there! Of course, Royal Caribbean is known for fantastic entertainment, and Harmony will feature Grease and Columbus, The Musical!
Harmony of the Seas sets sail in May 2016 with short introductory cruises from Southampton. Following a summer Mediterranean season, Harmony will reposition to her permanent home port of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where the ship will sail 7-day eastern and western Caribbean itineraries.
