Canopy and Curio – New Hilton Brands

In a recent interview of Hilton’s CEO, Christopher Nassetta, by Skift he mentions that Hilton’s new brands, Canopy and Curio, are seen as core products and, “They’re not going to be 20 or 50 hotels like some of the lifestyle brands from other companies, there will be hundreds of hotels.”

Curio hotels will be non-traditional, four- and five-star hotels that are relevant to their local environment, “unlike the other options that we have.” Canopy is viewed as an “accessible lifestyle” brand. “In terms of design ethos, it’s light and organic,” Nassetta explained. Canopy hotels will be more locally oriented to the environment and “at an upper end, but not luxury, price point.” The hotels will feature afternoon tastings and free locally sourced breakfasts. He also mentioned that Hilton will continue to pursue other opportunities and new brands.

Bottom line: The Diplomat Resort & Spa Hollywood, Curio Collection by Hilton hotel in Hollywood, Fla., for example, requires 70,000 points for a king bed intracoastal view superior room (standard room award), or you can choose to spend 28,000 points plus $125 cash–and deluxe rooms require more than 100,000 points. Currently, there are five Curio hotels in Florida, Rhode Island, Las Vegas, Chapel Hill and Dallas. There are currently no Canopy hotels open.
