The oneworld alliance has added two new benefits for Sapphire and Emerald tier members–priority baggage handling for Sapphire and Emerald members and an additional baggage allowance for Sapphire members. While most oneworld member airlines already typically offered priority baggage handling to Emerald members, this benefit is now extended to all passengers with the equivalent oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status when flying with any alliance member airline in any cabin class.

Sapphire members traveling on international or domestic flights are now allowed 15 kgs in addition to the regular economy allowance on airlines that use the weight system for baggage, a second bag weighing up to 23 kgs on international flights when the ticketed allowance is one bag and at least one piece of additional baggage up to 23 kgs on all domestic flights, even when the regular ticketed allowance does not offer any free baggage.
