Aeroplan has introduced special awards for their new Distinction status program. Currently Distinction members can redeem miles for exclusive flights from major Canadian cities to popular Spring Break destinations. All of the seats will be reserved solely for Distinction members and are offered at the ClassicFlight Reward mileage level. For example, roundtrip flights between Vancouver and Los Angeles during March 24 through March 28, 2014 are 25,000 miles in economy or 50,000 miles in business class. There are also flights available from Calgary, Montreal, Ottawa or Toronto to Los Angeles, Orlando or Cancun, depending on city pairs and availability.

This flight award can only be booked via a dedicated toll-free number (877) 341-9730, where the booking fees will be waived.

Bottom line: These awards are available first come, first served and changes to Distinction Flight awards are not permitted. You can, however, cancel and reinstate your miles up to 22 days prior to your schedule departure with a $90 CDN plus applicable taxes per ticket.
