JetBlue has announced the details of its new, premium section. Earlier this year, the airline announced it would be introducing new, lie-flat seats on transcontinental flights. The premium section will be called Mint and offer 16 lie-flat seats in the front of the cabin, custom Birchbox amenity kits, a tapas-style premium menu and complimentary alcoholic beverages. Seats will have a massage feature, cushions with adjustable firmness and four of the seats will be offered as suites with privacy doors. The airline will begin flying with the Mint section on June 15, 2014 between New York and Los Angeles. Flights between New York and San Francisco will be available by the end of 2014. Fares between New York and Los Angeles will start at $599 each way, which is considerably less than the average transcontinental premium fare on legacy airlines.
