Gulf Air launched its Frequent flyer program (FFP) in 1994 and is in the process of relaunching. There are many changes coming into effect including, but not limited to, members now do not have to buy a full-fare economy ticket to upgrade their flight to Falcon Gold with miles because discounted economy tickets can also be upgraded and Blue card members need to earn 900 points instead of 1,000 points to become Silver card members. Having attained Silver, members need to earn 630 points instead of 700 to maintain the status.
For 5,000 miles, members can access the new lounge at London Heathrow’s Terminal Four. Blue members can redeem for lounge access for themselves and any accompanying guests. Silver members, who already get lounge access, can redeem for any accompanying guest and Gold members can now redeem miles for unlimited guests.
Members can also redeem their miles for free tickets and upgrades up until the flights are closed for sale in the reservation system and new members and their family nominees can claim miles for Gulf Air flights 90 days before enrollment in the program.
