Starwood opened the first Aloft Hotel in India at the beginning of July. The new property, Aloft Chennai, OMR — IT Expressway, is located 15.5 miles from the Chennai Airport in an IT corridor that is well-known as a center for software development and business process outsourcing. The property features an outdoor pool, gym, bar and free in-room high-speed Internet access. The Aloft Chennai is a category 3 hotel and can be booked for 7,000 points per night.

Starwood is planning on opening a second hotel in India this month. The Aloft Bengaluru Hotel Whitefield is located near many IT and multinational companies as well as The International Technology Park Bangalore and will also be a category 3 hotel. Free wireless high-speed Internet access is available in all guest rooms of the hotel.
