It has come to our attention that some frequent flyers of late have made the trip to the airport expecting to get on an award flight to find that the partner airline they expected to fly does not have a ticket for them. We’ll not name names of the airlines involved here, but suggest that whenever you redeem a ticket for a flight on a partner airline, you should make sure you have a ticket receipt in hand when you go to the airport, showing the ticket number and itinerary. And better yet, call the partner airline in advance of travel to make sure they have a record of that exact ticket number. (Our thanks to FlyerTalk members, especially BangkokTraveler, for the good advice.)
