As of May 20, 2009, members of Alaska Mileage Plan can book Mileage Plan award flights that may include flights on both Delta and Northwest in the same itinerary. Before that date, members were unable to combine the two partners in a single itinerary. Now, for example, Mileage Plan members can fly from Seattle to Amsterdam on Northwest, and then fly from Amsterdam to Atlanta and back home to Seattle on Delta.

This possibility is a result of the Delta/Northwest merger but our contact at Alaska Mileage Plan says that the program hopes to allow more partner combination itineraries in the future.

Also coming soon, members of Mileage Plan will be able to redeem miles for award flights on Mokulele Airlines based in Hawaii. Members of Mileage Plan currently earn 500 miles per one-way flight on Mokulele Airlines. Mokulele Airlines operates 85 daily departures to Hawaii.
