Hilton has announced a new all-suite extended stay brand aimed at business travelers. The Home2Suites strives to help travelers balance life on the road and features a community area called the “Oasis” where you can find a fresh market pantry, laundry facilities, work spaces with flat-screen monitors and an activity room. The mid-tier rates will include complimentary continental breakfast and access to fitness facilities. Guest studios and one-bedroom suites include a full kitchenette, 42-inch flat screen TV and a “working wall,” which includes modules for storage and a workspace.
Construction on the first hotel is expected to begin in the next 6 to 12 months and Hilton expects to have 100 properties open by the end of 2012.
We contacted Hilton and asked if they could give us more information, but were told that they are still working out how HHonors will be structured for these hotels. Agreements for hotels have been signed in New York City, Baltimore/White Marsh, Md., Charlotte and Jacksonville, N.C., Gadsden and Alabaster, Ala., Elko, Nev. and three hotels in San Antonio.
