The U.K.’s Jet2.com airline has launched the myJet2 customer loyalty program. Points will be earned from buying flights and other services online such as baggage charges that can then be used to redeem for flights. Members earn one point for every #1 paid for flights and services, including taxes and charges. Award flights can be redeemed starting with 600 points for a one-way flight within zone 1 in Europe, which includes 38 destinations including Amsterdam, Krakow, Dubrovnik, Palma, Malaga and many others. A roundtrip flight is double that amount, at 1,200 points. Zone 2 destinations, of which there are eight, include Tenerife, Sharm El Sheikh, Larnaca and Corfu among others.
The program differs from most frequent flyer programs in that you can earn points into your account for anyone who is in the same booking with you, up to nine other passengers.
You can use the points for yourself or anyone you choose. Points expire two years after the relevant booking for which they were earned and there are some blackout dates and limited availability for award flights during peak travel times.
Early in 2009, expect to be able to redeem your points online and take advantage of further benefits and offers such as car rental, insurance, accommodation and promotions with http://www.Jet2holidays.com
It’s free to join the program. However, you must be at least 18 years old to join and have a permanent residential address in the U.K., Channel Islands, Isle of Man or Ireland and a valid email address. Jet2 does not fly to London or Dublin. Visit http://www.jet2.com
