InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) has opened its first Hotel Indigo in Mexico. The 50-room Hotel Indigo Merida Hacienda Misne is housed in a restored, 100-year-old building that was once a hacienda. The hotel includes a restaurant, the Golden Bean, which specializes in Yucatan dishes, a business center and fitness room. All rooms face into a central tropical garden and feature antique furnishings. It is located six kilometers from downtown Merida. Pets are allowed and there is high-speed Internet access.
Look for a Hotel Indigo to open in Brooklyn in early 2010, featuring 164 high-end, amenity rich rooms among more than 15,000 square feet of new retail space. Hotel Indigo is being hailed as the first branded boutique hotel.
