Hilton HHonors has announced changes regarding reward categories and the discontinuation of airline rewards.
Effective immediately, you can book even longer reward stays. HHonors has extended the number of consecutive nights you can book for a reward stay. Book up to nine consecutive nights for standard hotel rewards, and up to 14 consecutive nights for VIP hotel rewards. (This is an increase from the previous limit of only six consecutive reward nights for standard hotel or VIP reward nights).
Also, starting Jan. 1, 2007, airline rewards will no longer be offered. Members can redeem HHonors points for airline rewards through Dec. 31, 2006. HHonors members can continue to earn airline miles for their stays, and can redeem their HHonors points for airline miles with select airline partners as part of the HHonors Reward Exchange.
In addition, as we reported earlier, the HHonors hotel reward category for over 900 Hilton Family hotels — excluding Scandic — has changed. Beginning Oct. 1, Scandic hotels will also change their reward categories.
