Thai recently announced the start of new service to Moscow and Johannesburg. If you are looking for an upgrade to the Russian capital, you can redeem 22,500 miles for an upgrade from economy class to Royal Silk Class, or redeem 30,000 miles for an upgrade from Royal Silk Class to Royal First Class.

If you are headed to South Africa, you can redeem 48,750 miles for an economy-class roundtrip award between Bangkok and Johannesburg. Roundtrip Royal Silk Class awards will run you 78,750 miles, or redeem 105,000 miles for a roundtrip Royal First Class award. Get a one-way upgrade from economy-class to Royal Silk Class for 30,000 miles, or sit in the good seats and redeem 37,500 miles for a one-way upgrade from Royal Silk Class to Royal First Class. The award sale for travel between Bangkok and Johannesburg is valid between Dec. 1 and Feb. 28, 2006. Service to Johannesburg starts Dec. 1.
