Summer vacation time is here, and once again, Marriott has lowered the points required to stay at some of the world’s most popular vacation destinations.

As part of its Summer PointSaver promotion, all Marriott PointSaver hotels are discounted one category, allowing Rewards members to save up to 33 percent off the normal redemption requirements. For example, the St. Kitts Marriott Resort is a category-five hotel, and usually requires 25,000 Marriott Rewards points for a one-night stay, but with Summer PointSavers, it can be redeemed as a category 4 hotel, thereby requiring only 20,000 points.

Marriott Rewards Elite members, and only elite members, can redeem points for PointSaver awards at category-six and seven hotels. For example, a two-night stay at Marriott’s Camelback Inn Resort, Golf Club & Spa located in Scottsdale, Ariz., a category-seven hotel on a PointSaver award will run 55,000 points (normally 65,000 points). A five-night stay at the JW Marriott Cancun Resort and Spa, a category-six hotel, booked at the PointSaver rate, is 95,000 points (normally 110,000 points).

Participating brands include Marriott Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts, Renaissance Hotels & Resorts, Courtyard by Marriott, Residence Inn by Marriott, Fairfield Inn by Marriott, TownePlace Suites by Marriott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott and Marriott Vacation Club International.
