Last month The Associated Press reported that a self-described “crazy cat lady” donated 25,000 miles to fly a homeless feline from Canada to a new home in Fairbanks, Alaska.

Florida’s Mello-Dee Simmons heard about the wayward cat through a cat-lovers’ Web site, and parted with the miles and an extra $75 dollars to rescue it.

“It makes me feel good to help,” said Simmons, “even if it’s just one cat at a time.”
