Evidently, the fact that 2004 is a leap year has escaped the attention of many in the travel industry. Many would-be travelers have reported that, when calling for reservations for Feb. 29, 2004, the reservation agents have been at a loss because their computer systems apparently are unaware of the extra day.
This is an important bit of information to keep in mind if you find yourself planning some late-winter travel. It’s not likely that many travelers have made plans for Feb. 29. As a result, those award seats are likely yours for the taking.
