Now United Mileage Plus members can use Mileage Plus miles to upgrade on Lufthansa-operated flights.

Customers should request paper upgrades from the Mileage Plus Service Center and allow two weeks for delivery. On Lufthansa flights, the upgrade will be processed once the valid paid ticket is issued.

On code-share flights, the upgrade will be processed on a standby basis, day of departure only.

The mileage amount is the same, whether the customer is redeeming on a United-operated or Lufthansa-operated flight. As part of a reciprocal agreement, Lufthansa Miles & More members can use their Miles & More miles to upgrade on United flights.
