In the “What Were We Thinking?” category of mistakes, our humble apologies go to the Diners Club Rewards program. In the April issue of this magazine, we compared spending opportunities for merchandise using points from both the Diners Club Rewards program and American Express Membership Rewards. We said that members could find better deals with Amex. Boy, were we wrong. We forgot the two-points-per-dollar earning power of Club Rewards and can truly say that the better deals for converting points to merchandise are available to members of Club Rewards. We weren’t just trying to see if you were reading Inside Flyer carefully; we simply screwed up.
