Iberia has introduced a new credit card, in conjunction with Visa, with a built-in microchip and radio antenna — enabling holders to speed their journey through the airport when traveling on the airline’s Madrid-Barcelona shuttle.
The card, available to customers with Spanish bank accounts, allows time-pressed customers to check in simply by standing close to a self-service check-in machine. It can also be used as an ordinary credit card, earning one Iberia Plus point for every 15 Euros spent.
As an added bonus, through the rest of the year cardholders earn double points and save four Euros per sector every time they use the card at self-service check-in machines. They also have free access to the T-3 VIP lounge in the Madrid-Barajas Airport.
