Continental Airlines launched a codeshare agreement with French rail operator SNCF in February.
The Houston-based carrier said the agreement will allow travelers to transfer at Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport from Continental transatlantic flights to 13 French cities via SNCF’s TGV high-speed rail service.
The deal calls for Continental to place its designator code on SNCF TGV trains for connections between Paris and Angers St. Laud, Avignon TGV, Bordeaux St. Jean, Le Mans, Lille Europe, Lyon Part Dieu, Marseille St. Charles, Montpellier, Nantes, Nimes, Poitiers, Rennes and St. Pierre de Corps/Tours.
Continental operates three nonstop flights a day to Paris/Charles de Gaulle — twice daily from Newark International Airport and once a day from Houston.
The agreement also provides additional benefits to members of OnePass, who will be able to earn miles when using SNCF TGV services in conjunction with Continental flights.
SNCF (La Societe Nationale des Chemins de fer Francais) serves 140 destinations in France and carries more than 80 million passengers per year.
