Change is in the air, and Hilton doesn’t want to be left out of the fun. The ways in which you earn HHonors points remain the same, and double-dipping isn’t going anywhere, but there will be some changes to the reward side of things.

Beginning June 1, the current five categories of hotel choices will be increased to six. In Hilton’s words, “While the points required for free nights at more than two-thirds of the hotels have stayed the same or been reduced, more points will be required at the remaining hotels.” Translation: This gives us the opportunity to raise the point levels on our more exclusive properties.

You may want to check with Hilton to see if the hotel you’ve been eyeing is being raised a level, and if so, go ahead and redeem your award now.
