Lufthansa is blazing an electronic trail in the sky with the introduction of laptops with broadband Internet access on board.
Passengers will be able to access the Internet for the first time above the clouds with state-of-the-art notebook technology from Fujisu Siemens Computers.
For the initial three month trial of FlyNet on flights between Frankfurt and Washington D.C., the airline will be giving out 50 Lifebook S6010 on loan to its passengers. To avoid any security concerns, all information stored on the notebooks will automatically be deleted when the computer is rebooted. Additionally, each computer will have its battery refreshed on landing and specially trained service professionals will be available during the trial run for technical issues. It will also be possible to purchase the notebook directly from Lufthansa via the Miles & More Skyshop catalog.
