Delta Air Lines announced it will sell tickets for flights run by three Colombian airlines. The code-share agreement for routes between and within Colombia and the United States, is with Alianza Summa, which consists of Colombian airlines Avianca, SAM and Aces.
The airlines said they plan to begin code-share flights by early summer 2003, pending government approval, with Delta placing its code on all Alianza Summa flights from Colombia to New York, Miami and Fort Lauderdale as well as to several interior Colombia markets. Alianza Summa would place its code on Delta’s Atlanta-Bogota flight as well as flights to several interior U.S. markets.
With this agreement, SkyMiles members will earn mileage credit when traveling on Delta’s code-share flights with Alianza Summa and members of Alianza Summa’s frequent flyer program will earn mileage credit when traveling on Alianza Summa’s code-share flight operated by Delta.
