Marriott Rewards elite members have a little more to look forward to during their next stay. Marriott has instituted the “Elite Benefits Guarantee,” including guaranteed platinum arrival gift delivery, guaranteed lounge access and guaranteed room type.

If your platinum arrival gift is not delivered for any reason, or if you are not able to access the Concierge or Executive/Club Lounge (where available), Marriott will compensate you with $100. At Marriott and Renaissance hotels, your reserved bed type and smoking preference are similarly guaranteed, while at Courtyard, Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, Fairfield Inn and TownePlace Suites, your smoking preference will be backed with $25 to $100 guarantee, depending on brand.

An additional perk for the in-late out-early traveler: Platinum members not earning miles may opt for 500 bonus points in lieu of an arrival gift. We view this as an excellent addition to the benefits members already enjoy.
