Frequent Flyer members who buy a ticket at any published fare Nov. 15 through March 31, 2002, can take a companion along for half the miles – that is 7,500 miles, which has to be the lowest in the industry for a companion, or wait, is there a promotion, redeem one, get one free?

Frequent Flyer members have a new award option on their menu — but the price may be a tad exorbitant for some. For 40,000 miles, you can now get a one-week SUV or Minivan rental from Hertz. As a point of reference, it would take a grand total of 800 one day car rentals, earning at the rate of 50 miles per day, to earn 40,000 Frequent Flyer miles. On the plus side, a connecting flight is no longer required to earn bonus Frequent Flyer miles when renting from Hertz.
