As the temperatures plummet in Canada, Air Canada Aeroplan members will be able to jet to warmer climates with the Florida Virtual Reward Sale. Through Feb. 20, Fort Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Miami, Orlando, Tampa and West Palm Beach are all on sale for 20,000 miles from anywhere in Canada.

Redeeming a ticket, however, is an elaborate process. The award must be booked online eight days prior to travel, and all bookings must be followed up with a call to the Aeroplan Service Center within 72 hours. Good luck getting through to the service center though. The word filtering through from Canada is that hold times are reprehensible – with one reader reportedly spending six hours on hold before abandoning the call. Blackout dates do apply. Still with Air Canada Aeroplan, a fee of CAD$25 will now be assessed for date and flight number changes to award reservations. The $75 fee for itinerary changes and mileage reinstatement is still in effect.
