Hey, have we got a deal for you? Actually, American Express Membership Rewards has a deal for you. Members of that popular program can transfer their points to Delta SkyMiles and receive up to 20 percent additional Delta miles, PLUS complimentary Medallion status.

Just make a one-time transfer of 250,000 Membership Rewards points or more to your Delta SkyMiles account between May 15 and June 30 and you’ll earn up to 20 percent additional Delta miles. Tier one: Transfer 250,000 — 350,000 points and earn a 10 percent miles bonus and Silver Medallion status. Tier two: Transfer 350,001 — 500,000 points and earn a 15 percent miles bonus and Gold Medallion status. Tier three: Transfer more than 500,000 points and earn a 20 percent miles bonus and Gold Medallion status (remember, it’s better to transfer HHonors points this way).

It’s too early to tell if this is part of a new and ongoing strategy with Membership Rewards, but it definitely deserves your/our attention.

Fine Print: Your new Medallion membership begins six to eight weeks following the end of this promotion and extends through February 2003.
