Once the project is finalized, OnePass members will be able to view award inventory online … Spanish low-cost airline Spanair will join the Star Alliance within six to nine months. We are sure that Scandinavian Airlines’ stake in Spanair eased its application swiftly through the ranks … AAdvantage has added yet another way for members to earn miles, with Europcar now a rank and file member. AAdvantage members will earn 60 miles per rental day at all Europcar locations … Delta SkyMiles has added Jumeriah International Hotels as a SkyMiles partner. SkyMiles members will earn three miles for every dollar spent. The properties are located in Dubai, U.A.E and London and luxury is the common denominator. Still in the same neck of the woods, Delta SkyMiles members can also earn and redeem miles with Emirates, in fact, double miles are on offer through the end of this month … Beginning later this year, Aeroplan members will be able to accumulate up to one Aeroplan mile for every dollar spent at hardware retail outlets operating under Sodisco-Howden or under the Do-it, Ferplus and Batitout banners as well as 10,000 miles on purchases of residential VOXCOM security systems. Makes sense for a frequent flyer to have a home security system … United Airlines and US Airways are off down the partnership runway again. Continental swerved off after United Airlines said it was close to a codeshare deal. Although pilots may be the preliminary hurdle for this deal, there will be plenty more concern from competing airlines. The partnership will be a codeshare deal to start with, if approved, and will evolve into something more geared towards the accumulation of frequent flyer miles … Carnival Cruise Lines is the newest Aeroplan partner. Up to two Aeroplan members per stateroom can earn 200 miles each per day based on double occupancy … Budget Perfect Drive has teamed up with Roots, the Canadian clothing store. Points earned from car rentals can be redeemed for a variety of Roots merchandise … A Qantas Airways’ spokesperson denied a report that the airline has approached the New Zealand government with a view to acquiring a stake in rival Air New Zealand. However, the airline is in preliminary discussions with Air New Zealand management about a possible partnership which, if the parties agree to, could involve a minority shareholding in Air New Zealand … In a move which is surely aimed at making the oneworld alliance more user friendly and practical, Finnair Plus members can now earn points in booking classes T and W. This policy is retroactive to April 1, so any Finnair Plus members who traveled on British Airways after that date are entitled to retroactive credit.
