Delta Air Lines SkyMiles has designated Special Olympics as the SkyWish charity of the quarter. SkyWish, Delta’s charitable mileage donation program, will help transport Special Olympics athletes and coaches to sporting events, including the 2003 Special Olympics World Summer Games to be held in Dublin, Ireland.

Special Olympics is an international year-round program of sports training and competition for individuals with mental retardation. More than 1 million children and adults with mental retardation in more than 160 countries are a part of Special Olympics.

SkyMiles members may donate miles to the Special Olympics via SkyWish. There is a 5,000-mile minimum donation and Delta will boost each donation by adding 1,000 miles for every 5,000 miles contributed.
