Frontier Airlines has announced it will be installing Gogo in-flight Internet service on its fleet of Embraer aircraft (the planes previously branded as Midwest Airlines). Internet connectivity is expected to be completed on all 32 E170 and E190 aircraft by the end of 2010. Passengers will be able to check their email, connect to a VPN, browse the Internet and Twitter the flight away starting at $4.95, depending on the flight length and Web-enabled device. Internet service will only be installed on the Embraer fleet—the Airbus aircraft will continue to offer DIRECTV service and pay-per-view movies.

A press release from Frontier Airlines mentions the airline “will continue to research in-flight connectivity options to further enhance the Frontier travel experience” but for now, plans have not been made to install Internet service on the Airbus fleet.
