Amtrak customers booking rail tickets at Amtrak.com can now book hotel stays, rental cars, entertainment and other amenities with a single transaction. The new features are powered by iSeatz technology and include a OneView tool that allows passengers to view and manage all aspects of their trip.
Amtrak.com users can access thousands of hotel properties and car rental companies that are within one mile of 70 train stations. Plus, customers can purchase tickets to shows, theater, sightseeing tours and other special events. After selecting your train itinerary, you can view available hotels and sort by price, name of hotel and ratings. Each property also lists the distance in miles from the station to the hotel. If activities are available at your destination, you can choose a deal such as the San Francisco CityPass, which gives you a 50 percent discount at seven popular city attractions. After completing your travel itinerary, you can proceed to check out and pay for all of your selections with a credit card.
Another new option for members, Amtrak is offering customers residing in North America the ability to purchase a USA Rail Pass, which was previously only available to foreigners living outside of the U.S. and Canada. The USA Rail Pass starts at $389 for an eight segment, 15-day pass.
