American Airlines has a new MileFinder Map Web site that can help you find partners that participate in the AAdvantage program. You can search for AAdvantage participants in 11 cities served by American Airlines, including Los Angeles, Miami and New York. After choosing a destination, a map of the city will be displayed and you can search for rental cars, financial services, hotels, restaurants, airports and utilities in the vicinity.
Click the knife and fork symbol and you’ll be taken to information about the restaurant at that location with reviews and ratings. You can also narrow your search by typing in a location. When we typed in Madison Avenue in New York City, eight restaurants were displayed but only one had been rated. Each restaurant provided a brief description, how many miles you could earn by dining, a link to the restaurant’s Web site and directions to get there. This is a useful tool and we like the interactive map feature — we hope that it catches on and more users write reviews. Visit http://www.aa.com/milefinder
