Continental Airlines has completed the installation of Audio/Video on Demand (AVOD) in BusinessFirst cabins of its entire fleet of Boeing 757 aircraft used primarily on transatlantic flights to or from New York/Newark Liberty International Airport. Beginning this summer, AVOD systems will be installed in the coach cabins of these aircraft. Customers can choose from up to 25 movies, 25 short-subject programs and 50 compact discs. Or, if they prefer, they can choose from 20 video games and an interactive Berlitz World Traveler program that teaches foreign languages. AVOD systems will start appearing in Continental’s Boeing 777 fleet this month and will offer even more options including up to 250 movies and 150 compact discs. Continental is also increasing the number of in-seat AC power ports on its aircraft.
