Muscat-based Oman Air has launched its electronic booking service, by which flights can be booked directly online. The service can be accessed through Oman Air’s Web site, http://www.omanair.aero
The Internet-based “Web Booking Engine” allows flyers to book seats and pay for electronic tickets by credit cards.
The e-ticketing is currently available only to selected cities, including Salalah, Dubai, Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Kuwait and Cairo. The service will be extended throughout Oman Air’s network by the end of 2006.
The carrier has re-launched its frequent flyer program as “Sindbad,” and has been focusing on improving its Web presence for members in the past two months.
Sindbad frequent flyers can now access e-ticketing, as well as account information and promotional materials online.
