American CIO Named One of the 75 Most Powerful African Americans in Corporate America

American Airlines Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer Monte Ford was honored recently at a New York City dinner hosted by Black Enterprise magazine recognizing the 75 Most Powerful African Americans in Corporate America. Ford, along with the other honorees, is featured in the magazine’s February 2005 cover story.

As the only executive from a commercial airline, Ford was commended for his leadership role in leveraging innovative technology solutions to help the airline navigate through the troubled times the entire industry has experienced over the past several years. His contributions have made possible numerous systems designed to enhance customers’ travel experience, cut costs and improve operating efficiency.
