Uber Partners with Hyatt and United to coordinate travel.
Hyatt Gold Passport and United MileagePlus have become the first major hotel and airline programs to integrate their apps with Uber to connect you with your next ride.
Those using the Hyatt or United app will now see the Uber logo and information about Uber displayed, allowing users to coordinate their travel plans through one app. Passengers with iOS and Android mobile devices can access Uber information from the United app’s menu or in the “My Reservations” tab. The app will show types of available vehicles, estimated wait times and prices. Users can select a vehicle and the United app will transfer them to the Uber app (if it has been previously downloaded) or the Uber website to complete the transaction.
Customers who sign up for Uber through the United app and complete their first ride will receive 1,000 MileagePlus miles for a limited time, which has not been defined with a specific date by United. The bonus miles are only available to new members signing up for Uber for the first time.
Hyatt guests will find the Uber button located under the “My Reservations” section of the Hyatt app from the day of check-in to the end of the stay in more than 100 cities around the world in which Uber operates and Hyatt hotels are located. The app will display available Uber vehicles with estimated price and estimated wait times. When guests select an Uber vehicle, the Uber app will open with the destination address preset to their Hyatt hotels’ address.
INSIDE|Point: Hyatt is not offering bonus points for using the service. Hyatt recently introduced a new app that includes more intuitive searching, booking with Hyatt Gold Passport points and the discounted My Elite Rate for Platinum and Diamond members, along with support for Passbook.
