Starwood Preferred Guest has introduced SPG Pro, a rewards program created for meeting and event planners, travel professionals and current members of Starwood Preferred Planner–it’s basically for business-to-business customers who will be rewarded for the business they bring to Starwood. SPG Pro members will earn Starpoints starting at one point for every $3 and elite status in one SPG account.

When an SPG Pro member makes an eligible booking, they will earn Starpoints and will also earn one eligible night toward elite status for every 20 room nights they book on behalf of someone else. Elite status starts at 25 nights per year for Gold and 50 nights for Platinum status. SPG Pro members can then redeem Starpoints like other SPG members. SPG Pro is available for bookings that occur and are paid for on or after Oct. 15, 2014.
