Hawaiian Airlines is testing two pilot programs at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport that would allow customers to tag their own bags and skip the wait at the counter. Customers will be able to tag their own bags at home with the Tag@Home program, and then simply grab a plastic tag holder at the airport to attach their tag to their baggage. With bags properly tagged, travelers can proceed directly to a designated bag drop-off site and quickly continue on to security. The second pilot program offers a self-tagging kiosk at the airport, which allows travelers to weigh and tag their own luggage at check-in. The self-tagging kiosk is also being tested at eight other airports nationwide. After the trial period, Hawaiian Airlines will look over its data and consider introducing the service to the rest of its network.
