South African Airways’ Social check-in “Meet and Seat” allows passengers to search for open seats on aircraft and scan the Facebook details of other passengers before deciding on a seat assignment. With Meet and Seat you can check-in, share your Facebook information, look for friends and check out other passengers’ Facebook data.
Bottom line: South African Airways joins several other airlines that are making flying more social, including Malaysia Airlines, which features the MHBuddy app that checks you in via the carrier’s Facebook page so you can see if any of your friends are on board, as well Delta, Air France and Virgin Atlantic, who are all using social media to connect passengers.
