There’s soon to be a new Vegas property where you can spend hotel points for a free night. Preferred Hotel Group is accepting reservations for the SLS Hotel & Casino Las Vegas, with a grand opening scheduled for Labor Day weekend.

Formerly the Sahara, the property offers 1,600 rooms and 30,000 square feet of meeting space. Reservations are being accepted for Aug. 25, 2014 and beyond through the Preferred website at http://insideflyerus.wpengine.com/link/?11444

A check of rates for a weekend in September found rates starting at $159 per night with a buffet for two included with a minimum two-night stay.

Members of iPrefer can purchase award certificates from 2,500 points for a $50 certificate to 25,000 points for a $500 certificate, so a two-night stay would cost approximately 17,500 points.
