Wyndham Rewards members can exchange their Wyndham Rewards points for airline miles with 17 partner airlines, now including Alaska Mileage Plan. That’s the good news, the bad news is that without warning, the program changed the exchange rate.
In the past, members could redeem starting at 8,000 Wyndham Rewards points for 3,200 miles with most major U.S. frequent flyer programs, representing a transfer value of 2.5 Wyndham Rewards points to one mile. Now, the exchange rate starts at only 6,000 points, but you get only 1,200 miles, representing a transfer value of about five Wyndham Rewards points to one mile – cutting the value of the transfer in half.
Bottom line: Making a drastic cut in a benefit like this is bad news, but to make the change overnight without any warning is an insult to members.
