Formerly called Milefly, 30K is a new flight search engine that displays flight prices alongside the number of miles you can earn based on your frequent flyer program memberships and the fare class. You can easily see, for example, how many more miles you can earn in business as opposed to economy class, as well as how much more you would have to spend to get those extra miles.

You can also track your FFP memberships through 30K.com and be notified of your award and status miles balances, expiration dates and the mileage needed to move up a membership tier or a redemption threshold.

Currently, the site only supports American AAdvantage, Delta SkyMiles and United MileagePlus, but there are plans to add more programs. You must sign in with your program membership level, award and status miles along with any co-branded credit cards you own, and the site will take into consideration your elite status and credit card earning whenever you search for a flight. You are not asked for your membership number, so the site is not accessing your accounts.

Before booking, you’ll easily see the cost of the flight, the total number of miles you should earn (including on partner airlines) as well as the cost per mile. You can also choose to sort the flights found by cost per mile, which would be handy for mileage runners.

Bottom line: This could be a good tool for frequent flyers. Currently, it’s not very robust, with only three programs to choose from, and you can only search for one-way and roundtrip flights–you cannot search for multi-city itineraries. And when you click the “book” button, you are directed to redo the search on the airline’s website, or to call the airline to book your flight, but true booking capability will be available in the next few months.
