As of this month, Qantas’ low-cost airline Jetstar is offering iPads for rent as in-flight entertainment for A$10 per flight in Australia and Asia. The in-flight iPads are loaded with movies, music, magazines, books and games. Jetstar marketing manager David May was quoted in Business Traveller as saying, “if the trial works we want to put them on every aircraft because they’re so much slimmer and lighter than our existing units and I imagine we will be seeing many other airlines follow suit.”
