American Express has launched a new online financial service that will track members’ finances and loyalty program account balances. The new Money Manager service is available for free to all U.S. American Express Charge cardmembers. With the online tool, members can track their bank account balances, credit cards, investments, mortgage loans, car loans, student loans and rewards points, including frequent flyer miles and hotel loyalty points. You can link accounts to over 11,000 institutions that are supported by the online tool.
Visit http://www.americanexpress.com/moneymanager to access the tool and enter your user name and password. After adding your accounts, you can create customized spending reports, graphs and budgets to help you manage your finances. You can also set up e-mail alerts to let you know when you are over your budget. Data is automatically updated so you will be able to see the most current number of points and miles you have available to spend.
There are other Web sites that will track your miles and points, including mileagemanager.com, awardwallet.com and MileTracker.com. Yodlee.com will track both your financial accounts and loyalty program balances. In InsideFlyer’s cover story next month, we will delve into the world of online mileage managers for a closer look at all of the Web sites that will help you keep track of your miles and points.
