Farecast.com, the Web site that tracks the rise and fall of airfares, has added international destinations to the routes it tracks. The site will make a recommendation about whether you should buy now or wait for fares to drop, and help you make an informed choice, based on the historical patterns of airfares. The Web site boasts a 74.5 percent prediction accuracy based on an external audit by Navigant Consulting, Inc. and says that travelers could save an average of $55 by using Farecast’s predictions.
If you have plans to travel to locations such as Paris, Frankfurt or Amsterdam, check out the fares here before you decide to buy your ticket. You can also request Farecast to add a new city to its fare tracking system at www.farecast.com/addMyCity.do
A beta version for hotels is also offered on the site, allowing searches by city and date on several hotel booking sites and features a “deal, average, not a deal” rating for the hotels listed.
