Choice Privileges recently introduced a redesigned Web site and it is more than just a place to find a hotel to stay in for a night. You can also easily find concerts and other events for the dates you’ll be staying along with full information about the Choice Privileges program. Furthermore, the site will remember your interests when you return — for example, when you search for a hotel in Albuquerque that accepts pets, when you return to the site, your future searches will have “pets allowed” selected in the hotel features list. You can choose from several options for hotel features to search by such as beach, free full breakfast, pool, business center and more.
Also, you can enter the name of an attraction, airport, university, sports stadium, military installation or business to easily be directed to the Choice hotel closest to where you want to be. We searched for Golden Gate Bridge and found the Comfort Inn By the Bay just 3.2 miles from the bridge and we were directed to the Clarion Collection The Solita Soho Hotel when we searched for the Statue of Liberty — this hotel is also just 3.2 miles from the landmark.
And perhaps most exciting of all, is the new online mall where members can earn Choice Privileges points from shopping at over 100 well known merchants including BestBuy.com, Old Navy and Target.com. You can shop by category or merchant and there is a link to bonus offers. You can also sort the merchant list by merchant name, merchant category or point offer, which is a good way to see at a glance the quickest way to the most points such as 1,240 points for a new Netflix subscription followed by 20 points per dollar spent with several merchants including My Wines Direct, 123Inkjets, Magazines.com and SkinStore.com. Some of our favorites include Shutterfly for 14 points per dollar spent, The Body Shop for 12 points per dollar spent and Apple iTunes for eight points per dollar spent.
